A word from Jason Gaspard
Sacrifice - is the third of five that is part of the SAUL Collection The first - Son of God and the Second - Hallelujah . This unique process offers Gaspard the ability to custom create custom banners (big or small), chasubles, dalmatics, copes, stoles altar hangings and much more for your Church or institution. We look forward to being able to serve you and adding the additions to the SAUL Collection soon. I couldn’t be more proud of our team, and the effort that went into to creating this chasuble and process.
If you should have any questions, comments or any future projects and are interested in exploring this process please feel free to contact us.
The Saul Collection
This magnificent collection was a team collaboration mainly inspired by Sandy Aull, who has been with Gaspard for 4 years. Outside of work, Sandy is a wonderful artist who loves to create abstract, inspirational works of art in her home studio.
"This Son of God was inspired by a sunrise over a dew covered flat field. The grass and wild flowers glistened. I could see and feel God’s hand in this peace. When I added the cross, I felt the communion, so [I added] a touch of purple for the wine, some strokes for the wheat...I only hope that the viewer finds joy and peace while experiencing my art." Hallelujah was inspired as I once lived in a rural area and I know how dark the night sky is. Thinking then of the scriptures and the star that guided the Shepherd and kings to the Christ Child, I could see how enormously bright and guiding it would be. These thoughts are what guided my paint in interpreting this design. I hope it inspires guides all people to Christ" " Sacrifice - When I created this design for the Lenten Season, I thought about how this was THE most important part of Christianity (at least in my view). The Lord suffering for us, the Sacrifice - Profound. I hope the feeling is upon the face of Jesus in this design. Brush strokes symbolizing thorns, blood, tears and sorrow, the cross ever reminder of how was tortured. What He endured for us. I felt I needed to be aggressive in the interpretation." - Sandy Aull
The challenge was converting Sandy’s original painting to a viable digital format. Lauren Ninmer, Gaspard’s Senior Graphic Illustrator, was able to recreate Sandy’s work using a tablet. This allowed Lauren to act as if she was painting on canvas, laying down every detailed brush stroke, one by one. Once completed, the vision came to life.
This chasuble is created using a unique printing process in which the art is printed directly onto the highest quality material available. This material is lightweight, allowing for breath-ability and superior draping qualities. Special permeable inks that will not crack or peel are used, providing you years of service. The Son of God and Hallelujah chasuble comes complete with a complimentary reversible understole and rich satin lining.
